Why Sustainable Yarn Material is So Popular Nowadays?

SUSTAINABLE FASHION

Hello, I’m Sherry, an employee of E-son Knitwear manufacturer. We are a sweater supplier with 30 years of experience, and this year is my tenth year of work. In the last two years, I have been troubled by a problem. I found that my customers are asking me for something. The following is a screenshot of my customers’ E-mails……

E-mail Letters from My Customers

I believe you all must have found the common demand of all these customers. Yes, that is, sustainable and environmentally friendly raw materials. Why do more and more customers care about this topic again? Why do customers only use sustainable and environmentally friendly raw materials?

What is Sustainability?

Sustainability is a universal concept that meets human needs without combining the resources, we have now and helping preserve them for tomorrow, such as natural resources and social and economic resources for future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainability is not only about environmentalism. It is embedded in diversified definitions of Sustainability, Where you can find concerns for social equity, economic, and environmental development as well.

Sustainable Fashion! Why is so important right now?

Nowadays, fashion industries always come after the trend. With a projected world population of nine billion people by 2030, nature will face unpreceded challenges in meeting human demands. The fashion industry emits more than 1.2 billion tons of greenhouse gases per year. That accounts for more than 10% of global carbon emissions. As a result, customers and brands Alike have recognized the need for fashion renovations, with consumers expecting environmentally-friendly, renewable, and sustainable procedures and brands implementing adjustments. Today sustainable fashion scene is graduate-changing. In the first decade of the 21st century, many knitwear traders considered sustainable fashion as an important aspect of their business. At the same time, customer awareness of sustainable fashion has grown considerably.

BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA – MAY 1, 2019: Installation of Pile of old worn clothes during Fashion revolution week. Approximately 460 kgs of clothes is thrown away every 10 minutes in Slovakia.

I don’t know what you will think when you see this picture, or what impact it will have on our environment. When I saw this picture and this huge data, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Maybe you think I should be happy that so many people in the world buy our clothes every day. Then throw it away after wearing it one time, just like a plastic bag bought at a convenience store, and then it goes into the trash can after using it once, so our new model can be sold online again. But is this really appropriate? There is a saying in China: There is no quiet time, and there are always people carrying heavy loads.

I don’t want to be the source maker behind this number. Clothing pollution has reached an urgent point. As sweater clothing suppliers, we must shoulder this “responsibility. What should” do……

Let us take action. First of all, we start from the source of our yarn material and look for sustainable and environmentally friendly raw material suppliers. Below are what I find in the past two years.

What sustainable yarn material can be used in Knitwear?

  • RWS WOOL AND RMS MOHAIR

RWS Responsible Wool Standard is an independent, voluntary standard. The RWS certification, in terms of pastures, ensures that sheep receive five-star free treatment and ensures best practices in managing and protecting land. Through transparent traceability certification in the processing stage, it is ensured that the wool process of the certified pasture is correctly identified and tracked. Our raw material suppliers have implemented RWS certification of the responsible wool standard since 2015. Take seriously the source of each wool raw material, Provide customers with complete traceable products.

RMS requires that all production processes, from the mohair rancher to the end consumer, must be certified. Usually, the last certification stage is the clothing manufacturer or brand. The ranch has passed the certification of animal welfare, land management, and social module. The subsequent stages of the supply chain ensure traceability through certification.

  • ORGANIC WOOL AND ORGANIC COTTON

Organic wool sheep live in pastures free of man-made chemicals and genetically modified. These flocks are free-range, disease-free, and have “organic certificates issued by authorities in”.

In the use of cotton, we pay more attention to the environmental protection of materials, mainly using Organic Cotton instead of conventional cotton, so as to upgrade the environmental protection performance. Organic Cotton is a kind of pure natural and pollution-free cotton. In agricultural production, organic fertilizer, biological pest control, and natural farming management are the main methods. Chemicals are not allowed to be used, and pollution-free products are required in the production and spinning process; It has the characteristics of ecology, green and environmental protection.

  • DEGRADABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FIBER

EcoVero ™ Fiber is made from certified renewable wood sources and produced by ecological technology meeting high standards of environmental protection LENZING™ EcoVero ™ Fiber is designed for sustainable lifestyles and helps to create a cleaner environment.

Tencel ™ fiber-based on sustainable development wood source. This efficient use of resources reduces the impact on the environment, while water and solution can be continuously recycled. Fiber has unique physical properties such as high strength, excellent moisture management function, softness, and skin-friendly.

Naia ™ Acetate cellulose fiber is made by mixing wood pulp from sustainable wood sources with acetic acid made from various recycled wastes.

Terryyl Bio-based Fibers from Renewable Sources, It has superior textile properties, super PTT resilience, similar hand feeling to wool fiber, fluffy and soft hand feeling, and good hygroscopicity and perspiration. The renewable bio-polyamide fiber used by Tylon is highly similar to animal protein fiber, which has a positive impact on the protection of the earth’s energy. Every kilogram of bio-phenylenediamine can save 15.3 kWh of electricity.

  • RECYCLED MATERIALS

Our supplier collects wool and cashmere products such as waste garment pieces and scraps and processes these waste garment pieces and other materials to obtain newly regenerated wool fibers. That is regenerated wool (Recycle Wool) and regenerated cashmere (Recycle Cashmere ) Fiber.

Here is a Viedo show you how our yarn factory Recycle Wool material

Recycled polyester fiber is made from plastic bottles and waste polyester materials. Plastic bottles and waste polyester materials can be made into fragments, processed into particles, and then made into regenerated polyester fibers after processing such as melting and spinning.

InResST Recycled NylonThe raw materials mainly come from abandoned fishing nets in the ocean, and fishing activities are generated by the deep sea, and then produced by zero-carbon factories. Its properties are very similar to those of original nylon, and it can be directly applied to all types of materials, yarns, and fabrics. It can also be recycled physically and chemically. InREsST, which cooperates with Chinese fishermen and encourages them to dispose of fishing nets responsibly, buys back used nylon and recycles it into new fibers for textiles. PassCollect, extract and recombine to achieve the purpose of reuse. Every ton of InREsST ® raw materials can save 8.8 tons of carbon dioxide, 33,630 degrees of energy, and 7.3 tons of water, which is a recycled fiber that truly practices “‘s” of turning waste into wealth.

Having said that, I would like to solemnly introduce the sustainable yarn products we are using now:
